Destroy claimed road signs?

Hello! I claimed and palisaded a rather large area, and after building/getting settled in I realized that someone had previously built a road sign path through the area prior to me claiming it. Since then, it seems the original milestone creator has understandably come through and patched it up to go around my palisade, but there are still 4 road signs on my claim within the palisade. Even though the road signs are on my claim, attempting to destroy the disconnected road network has only yielded the response "That trail is owned by someone". Even with criminal acts, I can't seem to destroy something on my claim that is annoyingly in the way. As far as I'm concerned, that road belongs to me, and I don't want it here. Is there any reliable way to destroy a road on your own claim?
