River Pearl Mussels

I can't boil them anymore. They won't go in the cauldron, when opened, even though the cauldron is full of water.. Am I doing something wrong?

Sounds like you've picked up https://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/Oyster instead of a mussel.

You need to craft Boiled River Pearl Mussel via the crafting menu, C -> F -> E -> I.

I see now OP most likely meant they opened the cauldron, not whatever he was trying to boil.
This is understandable confusion since mussel is now an exception, most stuff added later has to be boiled inside the cauldron inventory while Boiled Mussel is a crafting recipe.
