Implement an update ticker bot in my discord channel

I'm wondering if there is a public API I can hit every so often to check that the datetime stamp on the top post of the "announcements" forum hasn't change, and if it has -- grab it and post it in my discord channel.

Would be a very simple script to write, just wondering if the API exists?
