mine hole building

Postby JohnBoyFarmer » Thu Oct 20, 2022 3:12 am

Getting "The rock below is to hard for you to mine" while trying to place a mine hole.
I have heard that the rock varies in hardness from place to place but is there anyone that has figure out what the averages are for each level, and what Strength is roughly required to drop the mine hole?
And either the pickaxe does not factor in while trying to place the mine hole itself or the rock below me is very damn hard cause i just upped my pickaxe Q by 80Pts and it had no effect on letting me place the hole.

I'm at 151 STR and trying to get to level 3. Pickaxe or not it still says too hard.

imagine hardeness nodes being almost the same as quality nodes for stones. they can take big shapes and as quality nodes, they can go up by hundreds of percents above level average. also, there are generally weak rocks (alabaster) and the opposite (like quartz, korund).
also, chances are that when you finally eat enough str to finally break down a level, you'll be trapped or surrounded by 1% per hit rocks

I have about 150 str and can mine at least half of L3 with a q120 stone axe. Try building your minehole over a cave so that you can run around testing walls (if you can't find a cave on L3, sorry!)

(if you can get to Whatever Bay market, check what's available for sale - sometimes a stone axe is Way Expensive but you can buy a high q stone and branch separately for 1 coin each, so long as your stats aren't going to cap it too badly).
