These are both good thoughts. Will keep them in mind.

Can also confirm it has nothing to do with Farmer Credo. First quest is plant lettuce and harvest poppy.

I believe the people finding straw have a serious economic advantage.
I mean just look at the items requiring straw .. chicken coops for example.

I spent a fair bit of time gathering corn grass and straw, it's actually not hard to gather once you're looking in the correct biomes.

I fully look forward to jorb and loftar fixing several mechanics and bringing back updates, because at that time you chuckleheads are going to be more marginalized than lawn furniture in winter.

I THINK it has something to do with number of times replanted.

My first couple corn grass plants only returned corn grass seeds and hay. After a couple replants, it started returning wheat and hay.

I planted a bunch of wild onions and its seemingly the same thing. First couple plants returns wild onion, but subsequent plants gets me red onions.

Still trying to see if I get anything from planting wild tubers and I dont seem to be able to replant wild gourds... they dont work on regular fields or trellises so... not sure what to do with them.

Red Plain gave me Tubers, 3 harvests, still Tubers.

Also it seems WWW are back, the first few game days I didn't see them with 45 Explore, now I can see them with only 15 Explore, so unsure if we can just focus on WWW's now or if we need to get some crops through the evolution of repeated planting of the new ones (Tubers, Corn Grass, Wild Onions, etc.)
