Grid lines

Is there a new way to turn on the grid lines? When I press cntrl+G in both ender or vanilla it just highlights the whole ground a green color without usual white lines.

Odd, have you checked the shortcut options to see if it's somehow been changed?
I recently had my laptop die so i'm playing on a fresh install and Ctrl+G is doing what it's meant to
