I want to build trail to my local thingwall but I have concerns. Is it two way teleport? how dangerous is it? Is it possible to make it private for only my village to use?

Yes if they want to build a connection.
It's as dangerous as drawing *some* amount of attention to your village.

avoid building posts too close to other claims

make sure each post is not in direct line of other roads
if they're nice they'll rebuild, but you never know

have STR enough to break post and rebuild when needed

Dig a minehole straight to the TW and pali up it's the smal pp strategy
