Base building location

Hi all,

Very quick question, I understand what it is I should look for when choosing a base location, I've spawned in the new world which has most of what I want/need, is it so wrong to build where you spawn?

I've played before and think I remember it being a thing not to build where you spawn but was wondering if it's so wrong to do so and if so why?

Building a starter base is fine, but you'll usually find a nicer place later, I usually say don't commit to your initial spot is better advice than don't build there at all
