New Pclaim...

How long has this new Pclaim 8 hour thing been in the game? I dont recall it doing that before..

Ive tried twice now to build my camp but due to working by the time i return someone has taken my stuff.. kinda frustrating that i cant even get my base up without some donkey coming over and slapping my stuff.

Any tips on how to make it survive

I last played like 5 worlds ago, and i cant remember having to wait 8 hours for it to soak in, unless it was the beginning of your Palisade.

Its just frustrating twice ive built one.. twice its been destroyed because i cant be there for 8 hours.

Take that as a message to move.. you are not wanted in that area.

It's also a good idea to lay low when you put up your claim (don't pave or landscape because that is just an invitation for looting on the map).
Other than that, just don't really invest into building until your claim is up.. which does not guarantee it will be untouched even if's on your active claim.

Pclaims have taken 8 IRL hours to activate since W8.

That causes some problems, though. What about all those people spawning for the first time in the game in the central area? Should griefing the new players be allowed?

Arguably they shouldn't be building pclaims in the spawn area.

Your best bet is to build your pclaim in the middle of nowhere and don't do anything to draw attention to it until it has activated. That includes keeping your valuables far, far away. Like in a cave.

Sadly unclaimed stuff is free game. Just how the game works. Though at this point the biggest offender likely have their own bae now and won't bother fresh players.

Still, there is countless forums about early starts that address ways to avoid this issue.
