Moving claim post within existing claim

Postby Popkins » Thu Nov 07, 2024 3:15 pm

The wiki says that you can move the claim post on your claim by just building a new one, but the base will be vulnerable for the 8hours it takes to soak.
My question is will the size of the claim be kept or will it just make a new claim? Worried about losing all the LP I put in and then not being able to cover everything again after the soak is complete

It retains the same size, but it does indeed act like it was freshly built again so if your palisade walls have not yet been up for about 2-3 real life days it may still be possible for someone to break them down in that 8 hour time-frame if they are strong enough.

The claim presence goes back to 0, make sure you have enough LP to refill it at least a bit after the 8 hours or have something in your study ready to complete around then.

Would be good to do so just to be safe, and I don't think it's as necessary any more but it's a good habit to extend your claim at least 1 tile further than where the largest gate cornerpost can be extended. Although even when the claim is out of presence it may still be impossible for anyone to build on it anyways, which is the case for an active claim I'm just not certain that is also true for inactive. Keep in mind you may want to extend those cornerposts yourself in the future if you want to expand in some way, but it is of course also possible to use a sealed cornerpost for a gate so long as the other unsealed post is at the correct position for it meaning you could simply build a new one later on if required.

Either way, do what you think is best to ensure your safety!
