Unarmed and Melee Combat ?

Hello, i'm here again asking some probably obvious question, is there a massive difference between Unarmed and Melee combat? is melee way better than Unarmed ? if so, should i stop leveling my unarmed and focus on melee only, still pretty new to the game.
Ever since i got chop i began wondering about it.

My 2 cents on this topic: Melee is simple to use, and requires less character investment for PvE hunting. I highly suggest it to any beginners dipping their toes into combat. It's also viable in pvp, so it's not like you're cutting yourself short if you end up going that way.

Quick Barrage + Full Circle + Boar spear is all I'll ever need to be happy while hunting.

Thanks, after reading the combat guide post and your comment i decided to get myself a boar spear and try and get quick barrage and full circle

This is what i would recommend. Its a sword and shield deck, very simple to use, is not pvp meta but its usable, its good for pretty much anything u want to do besides maybe dungeons.
QB to open red and build ip
FC to hit the red and open green
sting to hit green and self open blue
nothing on this deck requires unarmed so you can literally go unarmed 1 and focus only on melee forever.
It can hit any color, it can open any color(although some better than others).
It's good. I think.

The person above is retarded, don't put more than 1 point in take aim and just stick to shields up + qb + fc + sting and standarx defenses
