Natural Tree Q and Fuel Q

So I noticed some trees in the wild have quality is this with nodes per tree type? Also whats the highest natural tree Q people have seen? Another question whats the best way to get high Q fuel? all i can think of is splitting logs then making higher q coal and use that coal for higher q coal. this there better ways for quality fuel?

Quality is still all base 10. The difference is trees can have a random "extra growth" modifier that makes them appear bigger. From what i've seen they can be anywhere from 100% grown to 175% grown, and that same percentage is multiplied to all of its resources, increasing their quality and quantity. For instance if a tree gives 2 logs and is quality 10, a 150% grown version of that tree will give 3 logs and q15 seeds, despite only being q10.

Highest non grove trees I've seen are 190%

okay thanks alot I was confused as to how it worked haven't played in a few worlds. Any ideas how to get good fuel quality early game?

what q would 190% yield highest I've found is q 16 so far?


If the tree is q10, a 190% grown tree would be q19.

For fuel, best bet is to find as highly grown tree you can, like that 190% one, chop it into blocks and then get the highest ql axe you can and chop the blocks into sticks.
