Tarring a rowboat

Hi there! I built a rowboat and a tar kiln. I put a bit of tar from the kiln in a barrel, lifted it, and right clicked it on the rowboat, and...the barrel disappeared. I then brought out another barre with 2+ liters of tar that I had acquired from elsewhere and applied it to the rowboat. Again, the barrel vanished. It won't let me apply any further tar from a barrel to the boat, nor can I dip the boat into the barrel or the kiln. When I put the boat into the water, it says it hasn't been tarred.

I would assume I'm doing something wrong here, but I'm not sure what. Does the 2.5 liters have to be applied all at once?

Yes. I think you just put the barrels of tar into its storage - right click on the sacks inside.

Oh, you're right, duh! The rowboat is upside down, so I didn't notice the bags on it.

You have to right click the boat on the barrel and not viceversa.
You can find your barrels inside the boat as greyish bags.
