Does the Memories of the Seen give the discovery's LP?

Saw on the wiki there is a Memories of the Seen worship skill that makes your new character unlock all previous discoveries from the character you inherited. Do I get all the LP from those discoveries aswell? If not, is there any reason to use this? As it would just negate you the ability gain LP from the discoveries.

I don't think it gives you LP for rediscovery, you would use this because your new character is inheriting your claim and has no recipes to use half of the equipment you have.
Like for instance, you need bear meat to make big bear banger on your meat grinder, you might have bear meat but not the discovery for it. are you going to go hunt a bear with your fresh character?
Or say your character died with his merchant's robe, your new character might inherit a cupboard full of silk cloth but can't make the new merchant's robe without the silk cloth discovery
Though you may have a material account made up for every item you have on the claim, learning from that or your friends does not award LP either, so it's just more convenient to use memories of the seen

Main reason not to do it is mostly that numen is annoying I guess? Getting all the discoveries again tends to be far more annoying though.

It is very annoying to have a perfectly good frying pan and be unable to use it. If you happen to have, or be able to get, enough numen I recommend it.

(I had to get my neighbour to tell me about my frying pan. It was awkward.)
