where is dolomite?

i have to mine 9 pieces for Quarryman. it doesn't seem to spawn in my local area but I've travelled to an entire different continent at this point and all the stone types seem mostly the same, so what gives? do I have to dig deeper?

Stone distribution is entirely random save for a few key stones (marble, korund, sunstone) that are found at certain depths. Keep looking and you will find dolomite.
