Auto sharded of handheld tool (data pull)

Apparently its possible for a handheld tool to get auto sharded while using it. Like for example a pick axe while mining.
If something like that happened to you, please share it. (the more data, the better)

In my experience, auto sharting comes after eating bad Mexican food.
