Alts

As a solo player, how many alts do you play?
What’s your opinion on players who do everything with a single character?
If you could only have two characters, how would you distribute the work between them?

If you could have only 2?
- Hunter/Miner
- Farmer/Crafter

Also nothing wrong with playing one character as a solo player, but keep in mind this game's not designed to be played solo, but you can.

It's possible, but a fools errand. All stats would be important for the all-in-one character. You would want to raise basically all stats equally and at the same time, so that you don't pay more feps to raise the lower stats. This is going to be time consuming and tedious; also it will be slower due to how the feps and hunger work. Also the credo progression will start to get very long. Some people do pursue every credo on one character but for me it' becomes boring.

For your miner, assuming you're going for cave hermit, make sure you prioritize the fishing credo and mystic. Getting them out of the way first gives you fewer annoying credo quests.

Miner - Strength / Massonry / Unarm combat
Hunter - Strength / Agility / Melee combat
Farmer/Crafter - Farming / Dexterity / Carpentry

The necessary credos up to Hunter, Miner, Farmer, and Forager are mandatory for everyone. This is the most important thing.
If you focus on leveling a single character, your progress will be slower, and losing that character will have a significant impact. Additionally, it's always safe to transplant garden beds in the second game window.
