Inventory priortization

Postby Melotis » Sun Jan 11, 2026 5:46 pm

I'll give an example to make this question easier to ask.

When making the curiosity "Horrible Knot" it requires 1 stinging nettle, 1 Spindly Taproot and 6 String
If you attempt to make multiple at a time, the game will prioritize using the spindly taproot and/or stinging nettle as string, even if you have a different type of string in your inventory.
Is there any way of prioritizing specific materials when crafting? So in this example, you could set Grass Twine as priority for string? Is it something available through any of the custom clients?

Thanks

we've regularly asked for some kind of a 'choose what materials to use' UI for crafting in a few different ways.

My current method for horrible knot, specifically, is:
    1. Fill my inventory with Bark Cord and Hide Straps.
    2. Open the Horrible Knot recipe.
    3. Open a cupboard that holds both nettles and taproots.
    4. Craft once, close the cupboard, and open it again.
Repeat Step 4 until you run out of string in your inventory.

Unfortunately this becomes rather tedious if you are crafting them regularly, but no more tedious than filling tree pots with soil and water, in my opinion. Bug collections made out of 6 bugs are a different issue, though.

There is probably a bot that will do things like this for you, but I don't use one. Maybe consider using the Nurgling client? I hear you can use it to record actions, but I've never attempted it myself.
Howdy!
