How am I supposed to beat a Soldier Ant?

Hi, I’m Jadon and I’ve been playing for about two months. I ran into an Ant Hill near the Ring of Brodgar and tried fighting a Soldier Ant, but I keep dying no matter how careful I am. I’m using what feels like reasonable early-game gear and a basic combat setup, yet the fight still seems completely one-sided. I can’t tell if this is something I’m attempting too early, if I’m missing an important combat mechanic, or if Soldier Ants are simply not meant to be soloed at this point in progression. I don’t want to keep throwing characters at it blindly, so I’d really appreciate some advice on whether this is doable for a solo player around my level, or what I should focus on improving before trying again.
