There's no "warfare grinding", it's just taking pot-shots whenever you get a chance against those guys on the other team.

That was a figure of speech, but you are right, raiders taking pot-shots at villages and hermits has always been present, but I believe it is a bit worse for NB due to it´s very nature, it is right there waiting to get raided, everyone knows the location of the city and know they have no brickwall to protect themselves, easy pickings for raiders.
