I agree. It was a mistake on my end. Fortunately we easily rectified it.

No, they're New Brodgar, if you're inactive
they'll kick you, if they suspect you of being
a traitor they kill you, if they think you stole
something from the rest of the village they'll
kill you. If you don't join their skype chat they
will suspect you of being a spy and look for a
reason to kick / kill you, if you do then you are
open to being accused of being a spy because
Robin thinking "the enemy" has found out about
something he thought was a secret.

They are not the same brodgar from other worlds,
as they have said themselves.

And if Ainran suspects you of being from New Brodgar, they'll kill you. If you live near New Brodgar they'll kill you. If you smell like you're from New Brodgar they'll kill you. If you're pretty much anyone else they'll kill you. Look I can be melodramatic too!

I think it's funny you're trying to take a high road here. And you all are the indiscriminate raiders. I don't get why you're trying to make this sound like some kind of moral battle here. You all are pretty clearly amoral.

From my perpsective, it's Team A vs Team B. Not good vs evil.

Also sounds like Brodgar got dangerously closed to getting "Gromit"ed and dodged a bullet there.

They have a political interest here. They would like to see New Brodgar losing its authority and good name to scare off potential recruits, who would be able to help to defend the town. Creation of alt accounts to post that NB are on a noob kill spree is another example of their desperation.

Moreover, NB were not killing people initially. The time of war and Ainranians actually encouraging stupid kids to give out information might have made NB paranoiac.

We still aren't killing people (unless they are Ainran/R'Lyeh, or break our rules in our city.)
If you want to call it Good v. Evil, Team A v B, go for it.

We are just an open city that recruits anyone, including newbs, and is generally friendly and inviting to visitors. We are the only city that has had open newb recruitment since Day 1 of the w8, and probably will be the only city to offer that for any extended duration for as long as we can stay around. ;)

here is my pov after hearing what leafstab said in irc yesterday. i think my version is somewhat objective since im not involved at all here :)

leafstab had his own plan for metal production. robben had his own plan (not going into details). they disagreed, and couldnt reach any agreement nor compromise in any way. some villagers agreed with leafstab, but everyone or majority decided to follow robbens plan. leafstab believes his plan was better but,
10:05 Tonky > no other villagers agree with you?
10:06 Leafstab > Robbens word is final even if he is wrong was the support i got

and then, he decided to break the rule (changing keys to the metal place) to stop the plan/production, instead of further talking, and then got rammed and murdered by the villagers, instead of being exiled.

since leafstab did seem to have broken the rule and sabotaged the village work, it is kinda natural to see him being punished. not sure if killing him was legit, but it is their rule that they all seem to have agreed upon, so not my place to criticize there.

that said, quite simply, its a typical miscommunication or lack of one, and i think its the fault of the both side for not being able to convince the other while both tried to insist (or force) ones decision. its very immature for leafstab to knowingly break the rule too, and it makes me wonder why the villagers didnt try to spend a bit more time on convincing him logically how robbens plan was better or whatever, assuming the issue arose after the last metal chaos came.

either way, its a typical (and rather boring) internal drama that aint juicy at all. damyou, shadowchris, shouldnt have expected much.

High road? Moral battle?

No, i know i kill whoever i please for fun,
that's not a problem for me. However i find
it intriguing that New Brodgar has so many
scents pointing to it from raided newb camps
nearby (from single person theft jobs, the
occasional murder scent that points to your
militia plot or miner's guild plot). The way
i can get a character into your village easily
and then watch you attack other new villagers
thinking they're spies, saying how suspicious
they are and then making up a reason to kick
them or attack them. The way you kill your
own and then make up stories about it... The
things i've seen from your village, including
a screenshot of Leafstab telling a player that
he was kicked for not playing during a weekend?
You say you're open, but every time you kick a
player from your village or kill them i talk to
them and their stories are... chilling...

I know what i am, do you know what you are?

Not at all.
This progressed in these simple steps:

1. Leafstab has childlike tantrum, switches password/steals plot.
2. Leafstab is contacted to return plot, and has a long conversation with the member we designated to lead communications with him. Communication is lengthy, and eventually settles with Leaf becoming unresponsive.
3. Village has an ad-hoc meeting, we jointly agree that Leafstab will be given the ultimatum that he must return the keys, and then he may decide to either stay in the village or leave it.
4. Leafstab is sent this message on skype.
5. Leafstab, two hours later, logs onto the miners guild key alt. He is again reissued the ultimatum, this time in game. He goes on a tirade/monologue and then ceases to talk.
6. The miners guild alt is slain, but it has only slave keys on it.
7. We decide we need to ram his plot to reclaim the keys, 30 minutes later we begin ramming his plot.
8. Leaf runs around inside his plot, and at this point is told that if he returns the keys he will be allowed to leave the city in peace.
9. Leaf begins to repair the palisade wall and refuses, taunting us by telling us that the ram will break before we get in.
10. It was decided that Leaf will be told to open his gate, return the keys, and he will be let live - Otherwise we will kill him.
11. Leaf refuses. We bash down his wall and kill him.

He was given multiple warnings, had ample time to comply - His continued refusal to comply showed his malice/intent that went beyond stealing the plot, so he was slain.

The only person that Leafstab can blame is himself, we did everything appropriate to ensure that he was fairly treated and forewarned of the ramification of his actions and gave him every chance to resolve it peacefully.
