In world 6 there were a few large fights in between wrath of rabbits/winterfell and dis/ainran. Don't think there's been any since (outside of world restarts), because frankly it's stupid to stand and fight when you could run and play dirty.

The problem is that nobody is looking for such a battle because it is risky for both sides. Basically you look for situations where you can surprise and outnumber the enemy, just because of how much risk is involved in fighting in HnH. That is probably also part of the reason why most raiding parties rather kill some spruce caps than an actual enemy.

Think the biggest battles usually happen after a new world has been announced, because then there is no actual risk involved anymore.

Maybe better siege mechanics would change this.

Yeah even though it would be terrible for us right now; I think a system where the ram is not destroyable for like 21 hours, then is vulnerable for 3 hours, then is ready to use. would mean ~5 hours of actual battles to defend your town. besieging should not be about stealth, hiding rams IMO - nor who has the most free time.

This is alot like the darkfall siege system. some of the big 300 player battles over control of the map were the most fun Ive had in a video game tbh.

Haha, no. Id rather not guess on what time the ram is destroyable and then check every hour for so.

I actually still think this is a bad idea tbh. I don't think it would do much to accomplish what you'd want to see out of this (mostly, villages would build like 8 layers of walls and circumvent the mechanic entirely). It would also just create an environment where you'd either have to be up in the middle of the night or get raided, even if i got 24 hour warning i wouldn't want to be up in the middle of the times i normally sleep and i certainly wouldn't want to have to try to force my villagers to do the same just to stop a force that is almost certainly going to outnumber us because their prime time is when our downtime is (timezones).

The problem would become worse if you just kept putting rams at someones village in the middle of the night for days or weeks straight just to force them to be up in the middle of the night constantly or die. This isn't even going into what would happen to hermits.

Yeah it has some kinks to to iron out I'll give you that. Late night sieges were an issue in darkfall also

well I would rather if towns have to set a time their town can be vulnerable to a siege, to stop time zone abuse or at least give the defenders the advantage. but this is moving in a very "gamey" direction, that doesn't match feel of current game.

I mean, naowhut is equal to 15 people, so technically it was an equal fight.
