This is one of the shittiest threads ever. I don't understand the point of this.

Either people are planning to fuck with you or they aren't. No one planning to fuck with you is going to say "OMG! A peace-treaty?!?! Now I'll be friends with Brodgar!"

If you actually read the thread you might know that they're looking for the people willing to agree to peace within Brodgar's domain for visitors, not raiders who will convert.

Obviously the griefers will not give a fuck.

To those thinking that I am a raider, a griefer, or of that sort, you are wrong. I will even go one step farther and say find anyone that I have killed. You will be hard pressed for it has never happened.

I am not opposed to NB, nor am I against them having to setup a safe zone. I am very much in favor of it.

The OP was vague, the idea of talk to me to put together an idea. It was slapped together and had to many holes. I guess that is where my retarded questions kick in, it is not legit, nor policy, till it is in writing.

Being a power house is not a bad thing, being competitive is not a bad thing. How that every came across is mind blowing.

People have already pointed out that they won't touch NB as long as it remains a noobland. However, after certain events & the policy held by the head of NB, people might view NB as a potential threat/competition.

Agreed, the organization and actions I've seen NB take this world appear more as a loosely organized faction, instead of a small self police force that basically tried to enforce the very limited rules they impose on people asking to join.

What are these actions? people talking like NB are killing alot of people but AFAIK all they did was kill bob dole and minion who were repetitively attacking them. How is that not self defense?

Exactly. They can defend themselves. If the leader will change (happens really often) the policy of the village might change as well. So if you won't touch NB for a while and let them develop, assuming they will be noob-friendly forever, eventually it will backfire on you.

A conundrum then. The only other option is that we simply can't defend ourselves; which is not an actual option in this unforgiving world. You either defend yourself or die.

Perhaps after some time and stability, some of the more skeptical people will come to accept us as a peaceful entity.

I can certainly see why there are doubters, and I absolutely understand that we sort of came out of nowhere. Because few of our players have ties to former major factions, we don't have the same multi-year friends and political connections that generally are attached to some of the long-standing factions.

For now, I would like to offer one thing to people looking for a reason to trust us:
New Brodgar has no city wall. We purposefully allow anyone and everyone free entry, understanding this dampens our "competitiveness."

Someone is finally being honest. The issue you're all having is this. "If I don't kill them now, in the future they might be to big for me to kill."

Not everyone has this problem.

Would NB setup a walled trading area, that you control whom goes in and out of. More details need to be worked out, but that might solve some issues.
