Horse won't give birth

This horse has been pregnant for weeks and won't give birth. Its the only mare in the pen so i would know if it had. It is being fed.
It's branded and stolen from an inactive claim so maybe that mattered, and maybe it didnt have space i thought.
Tried to put it off claim, with food in a place were it had more space but after an additional week, no change.

If it's not your brand (rescued a branded animal?) it will not breed in your possession.

I think branded animals only breed on the claim of the brand. The purpose of branding is to make the animals useless to anyone who steals them; unfortunately it means abandoned branded animals are only good for slaughter or, in the case of horses, riding.

Not saying this can't possibly be a thing, but I've never heard about it before.

The old brand can be replaced with a new one, but this action counts as a crime of Vandalism. (IIRC/AFAIK)

Rebranded it which was indeed vandalism even when done off claim. I suppose I will have to give it another few days to see if this has anything to do with it.
If we apply this logic, how would this restriction work if i brand it off claim. And if i hadn't, would it need to remaining on either my claim or the village claim i'm part off... seems off. Not that I can't ride the horse at all so why would such possession limit even exist. Guessing more towards a different bug.
