Mound Beds BROKEN

Postby xAlexx » Wed Jun 24, 2026 11:18 pm

Just placed down my mound beds 2 days ago and all 6 of them have decayed and stopped providing coverage to my crops.
Might be something worth looking into please.

Interesting. My mound beds from last winter never decayed, changed color a bit but still present. (Ready to replace them them in case they're no longer functional.)

Probably because they dried up. Try adding water.
(So far I only had one mound bed that accepted water, and It took the full 2.5 liter :? )

this is my experience too. I have never had a mound bed break during winter , because I meticulously plan when to make them, then all of a sudden they last for like 2 days, never before did we have to feed them to make them work for warming, only feed them if we wanted to plant in them, there was no documentation on this changing.

over all its a super crappy update with unforeseen problems

I feel like the mount beds drain to melt the snow. Mine was fine. Then it snowed. BAM empty!

This bug requires the technical expertise of Loftar to fix. Unfortunately, Loftar is indisposed in the Mediterranean on a yacht with his new girlfriends.

Well, I spoke too soon. Built new mound beds beside the old ones, returned the next day to find none are functioning - snow everywhere, all crops withered. Blasphemies have been invoked upon those responsible.

Kinda to late for most (World 16.0) :( ... but.

It seems that after building a mound bed, its in fast decay mode ... Or ... it thinks it has (or had) only one mulch to spend.
To counter act that you need to do a full refill of the just build mound bed to make it think it has more mulch/time in store. So that 2x12 mulch per newly build mound bed. :(
(Decayed mulch beds also seem to take 2x12 mulch :? )

So far my mulch beds consume just ~1 mulch per day. (But I also check & refill them every day ... as I totally don't trust them at this moment.)

Thanks! Just spent an afternoon clearing out and replanting my farms. My conclusions -

A new mound bed requires 6 straw and 24 mulch.

Mound beds no longer decay and disappear, but will need to have the mulch replenished before start of the next winter.

Water is only necessary if you want to grow items in the mulch bed (anything which can be grown in a garden pot; I assume q of water, straw, and mulch matters here)
