Unusually high tree stunting rate

Postby SovietUnion » Mon Mar 11, 2019 11:09 pm

Out of 18 trees, 6 have stunted (got stuck) in various growth stages. That's 1/3 of all trees. And this keeps happening all the time, not just this batch.

Isn't the tree stunting mechanic broken? I remember this rate was a LOT lower. This doesn't seem to be bad luck anymore.

I appreciate any insight. Thanks!

Ceterum censeo: Tree stunting should be turned from completely halting growth to just reducing the speed they grow by 1/x (with x>1) of current speed.

So, even if i don't see percentage message while inspecting the tree, it still grows, but slower?

Currently it isn't like that.
But IMHO trees should be changed to not stop growing completely by being stunted, just reduce in speed.

It's the current year give us a hearth magic to unstunt trees.

Bad luck and VAGRANT TREE POACHERS have taken the last of my free range non gmo heritage spruce trees and i gotta start over at q10 like a PILGRIM

Fooled by randomness most likely. I agree that the stunting mechanic could be better.

If they kept growing like this and (optionally) took on a minor ~5% decrease in quality, it would be a lot better than the tree/bush becoming useless.

A 5% decrease in quality will make them useless (at some point in the world development).
Speed reduction would be enough, in case it's (say) a reduction of 20% of current speed (factor of .8) it could even be applied repeatedly...
