Logging onto your character you have a 5x5 inventory (and stuff in it). A normal inventory without bonuses is 4x4. Thus you have one extra row, and one extra column.

it may be a bug because i was allowed to click switch characters without making any new ones and it prompted me to make new one, then clicked again hoping i would return to the old one but still another new character, and on login page i see only one character

ok it may be something wrong with the launcher it seems if i download it every time it will log me into my account, but then why can't i make a new character with the same name? i died once and when making a new one it told me i already have 1 character with the same name

ok i'ts really wierd bug this one,
step by step.
1.click play on the website and download the jar file.
2 execute the jar file
3 it prompts me to log onto character named Witgang1
4 i log in to that character and i have the extra inventory slots.
5 log out from that character.
6 prompts me to log onto character named Witgang
7 loging into that shows me no extra slots or subscription bonus.
8 running the jar file again gets me to step 7.

An account can't have multiple characters, regardless of them being dead or alive, with the same name - it's no problem to have multiple characters that each have a distinct name.

problem is that one account is treated as 2 by the launcher, if i log in by downloading the launcher every time i get one set of characters, if i re run the jar file i get another set of character.
also if i download and play on any character from the first set when i relog i get the characters from the other set. trust me it's one of the weirdest.
almost like different login servers or different servers entirely. one clue is that on the other set i get no named area, the only chats are system and area chat.

The launcher uses the account your're logged in with on the forum, it shows you the account that is logged in in the title bar.
The client will remember the last account used, logging into another account will make it remember that one.
Re-downloading the launcher will reset the remembered account to the one you're logged in on the forum, as (from the perspective of Java) you're running a different application.

Your problem seems to be that you have two accounts and are confused by only one of them being subscribed.
When re-logging you log into the wrong account.

Solution: download the autohaven.jar, put it on the desktop, use only that to start the game, log into the right account once.

the rabbit hole is even deeper than that i'm afraid..
made a new character on the account where i didn't have subscription bonus and it gave me the subscription bonus. then i killed both characters on the "duplicate" account and relogged from the website into the normal account.
after i logged out from the option menu and press login again it sent me to the "duplicate" one and forced me into making a new character.
so the basic problem is that after clicking on log out button from the options if i click log in again it will send me into a different account. but if i'm logged into the duplicate account when logging out it prompts me the character page of that duplicate account.
i'll try to clear java cache and see if it fixes it.
