that would nerf it past where they brought it up from because people were complaining about having to maintain too many crops, this is really stupid and no one was ever thinking it.
Ethan wrote:option 3. Make 1000 seeds of barley (1 bucket), produce 10kg of flour (1 bucket). Then reduce the amount of flour required by recipes by 10x.
what? why on earth would anyone suggest that? that is a horrendous idea. rework the entire baked goods section to reduce the amount of flour and keep the labor cost exactly the same? that would be one update cycle worth of work for them bare minimum for practically no effect on us, and make a lot of recipes require another exponent, giving us those ugly over 3 digit numbers loftar hates.
Ethan wrote:option 4. Barley plants produce 10x the amount of seeds, a bucket holds 1000 seeds still, but produces 10kg of flour, requiring you to grind 10x as much.
I just.... how did you even get from flour should take up the same if not less space then the seeds it is ground from as it is more dense to this one plant should give infinitely more seeds than any other crop? that would break so many things.

You can just say it should be 1:1 without defining how that ratio should be implemented?
this is the only one with any sense. I think everyone thought they didn't need to define it, as the only other "options" you could come up with are just absurd.
the point here is, despite 50 pounds of feathers being much larger than 70 pounds of iron, the iron is heavier because the substance is denser. In this case, flour is denser than seeds. in order to grind 100 kg of flour from a single bucket of seeds, those seeds must already weigh 100 kg... does that make it make sense?
