Ok, taming step by step.
0) Cover yourself in rocks
1) Agro animal and set peace mode.
2) stack some coins (take aim, think, watch it moves works fine).
3) lower animal health and make a breach. For example when taming cows our tamer deal 200 dmg to them (depends on animal, they flee when they have less than 30% hp afaik)
4) Move out of rocks so animal could reach you
5) Deal some more dmg, usually its enough to make 1-2 hits (sideswipe works fine, use sting if you using spear).
6) Done
It easier with spear, couse you dont have to come close to the animal to open breach and animal dont hit you back when you covered in rocks.
This method is safe, harmless and could fail only if you deal too much dmg.
