Jordan try this https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/371 ... _trash.zip whether it helps with fps.
It's beehives and stockpiles with animation disabled.
Unpack so the 'res' folder is inside the client folder.

Please tell me you are adding this to the next release of Amber client?

Here is my entire render area
Image

Rendered: 1382+61(2723)
FPS: 38

With OBS running I get
Rendered: 1382+61(2723)
FPS: 15

In my plot with 23 beehives in render + 2 trash stockpiles
Rendered: 1,402+49(2,691)
FPS: 37

I do think I said rather explicitly that I'd like the idle counters as well. ^^

Also, is this still without shadows?

So just disabling animation doesn't help much it seems.

You can use it right now, it doesn't require updating the client and should work with any client which supports custom resources.
Just unzip it and place the 'res' folder within the client folder.
But it doesn't seem to help much unfortunately.

Idle sits at 0% unless I'm using my second monitor then it raises to like (90%, 0% idle) and fps drops to 4-5 because I guess that means the game isn't the main window at the time

And yes this is with shadows turned off

There are two idle meters, though, and it's fairly important to know each individually.

Yes, it says FPS: 15 (0%, 0% idle) and unless I'm tabbed out of the main game screen it stays that way regardless

Also it might be important to note that I have 55mbs download and 5mbs upload speed atm
It usually sits around 7-10 upload as I'm paying for 10

I do have to say it's really quite weird for both to be zero. If one is zero, the other one should be held up waiting for it, making it non-zero.

Moreover, though, my rig as by all reasonable accounts worse than yours (Core i5 2400, nVidia GF 560), and I have better performance than that, so something is clearly weird, but it is a good question just what.

If only to rule something out, are you using 32-bit Java? if so, please try and upgrade to 64-bit Java and see if that makes a difference. While the bitness shouldn't make a difference in and of itself, rumors are that 32-bit Java only uses the tier-1 JIT by default when running on Windows, and that could certainly make a difference.

As you can see I also get audio lag

Sucks you came for this issue instead of for a bug report
