Trouble dropping items onto ground

As subject states, I'm having trouble dropping items onto the ground...

If its an item that can make a stockpile, I can right click and make a stockpile. However if its an item like a feather, I can't get it to drop at all... I now have items just taking up space in my bag!

Open inventory, hold control, click item (right or left I don't remember).

It should drop whatever you click on from your inventory.

Hold and just left-click the map. Or ctrl+left-click in inventory. Not a bug, locking.
