Climbing / Jumping Cliff issue

Sorry for the title I have no idea how to word it, so when you climb up or jump down a cliff i'v noticed you cant go and chip stone for example with first moving a tile. My guess of what might be happening is that the game still thinks your on the OP side of said cliff and that you are hitting the cliff you should have just passed, or is there another reason?

The cliffs have a slightly magnetic tendency right now, yes. It will probably be fixed at some point.

That's correct, you seem to snap to the cliff to move up and down them and you can't do anything else until you unsnap by moving away.

Other point being is that you can't climb up or down until you snap to the cliff first. Ideally, I think it should be a fluid motion since there currently is no penalty for climbing. You just seem to do it, so would be nice to just click and then climb if needed.
