My previous character died from ants..stupid ants.. and all of my recipes are still here?

It's just a UI caching bug, if i recall correctly. Just relog/close client and it'll show you the ones you can really craft.

What lach said, pretty much. The action menu is not properly recalculated when you die. Will be fixed.
