can't put water on tanning tub?

i've done this before on a different location. now i moved to a new place and started building stuff and can't for some reason put water from a bucket inside the tanning tubs i've built. i got my partner trying too and he can't either. i'm pretty sure we're not doing anything wrong?

this is really stupid, i tried every way and nothing. tried moving the tub to several different spots and still nothing.
i'm supposed to right click the tanning tub while holding a bucket filled with water, right?

put tanning fluid in it

make tanning fluid with a bucket of water and empty bucket equipped. bark in inventory. c > p > n
