Animal corpses vanishing

I had a few animal corpses i killed last night and had in a cart that i proceeded to take out this morning to cut up at first i took out a boar and it went poof and i was a bit confused so i went and tried on another cart i had and same thing happened and my horse, badger and fox body all disappeared when removed from the cart.

Did the animals decay? don't assume a cart or other container is going to protect them in the new world.

Otherwise, did someone steal the animal corpses?

No, just got the same with a fox put in my leanto.
You take the fox, you see you handing the fox and 1 sec after it vanish.

How long had they been in the leanto for?

It appears that loftar has stealthily skulked in carcass decay without my knowledge. Which explains this.
