This is a harvest I just did of carrots.

Highest average quality deviation is 1.

Of 28, 22 were within 0.3 quality of one another (6, 6.3).
6 were at the max deviation of 1. (5.7, 6.7).

1 harvest was at 6.7, which produced 3 viable seeds.

Yeah, I saw your thread. Will look at it.

Well, I didn't catch the carrots in their seed stage this time, but when I harvested them in their final stage, here is what I got:

Borkified Brah. All average qualities were 6.3 and 6.0 - Just unchanged from two harvests back, so at least not decreasing on average anymore. :D

You do realize that all of them having the same random seed is intended, right?

Didn't realize that it was intended.

Cool feature.

I guess I will need multiple harvests to see the average quality increase then.

What determines the random seed that they get? Is it time based, set when they are harvested for everything around them, or something else?

Well the neat part here is that it detracts the need to avoid stacking like we all feared. But definitely details on how this system would be appreciated.
