We have a bugged deer corpse, nothing special was done to it, bugged partway through getting meat from it...

Will consider, but would love steps to reproduce or more confirmations. I seem to remember hearing more reports of this, and would love to fix it if it is at all possible to identify the cause.

i got this bug too, reported by my bud hunter. The steps were:
- placed 2 boars like really close one to another, almost when their textures overlaps;
- butchered the first boar, at time when the last piece of meat sliced should turn carcass into bones, no bones appeared;
- second boar became unbucherable, no menu appear (still skinned tho, idk if he skinned it before or afterwards)? still lying around, all we can do with it is just carry it around.

I was butchering/skinning a horse go into warehouse to store meat etc, come back outside and can no longer finish butchering the animal

Actually there arnt any steps to reproduce this. If you go through the bug forums this is somewhat uncommon, but the devs are fully aware of it.

Just had this happen, it was when the corpse was slightly behind another, this prevented me from reaching it, so when I cut the final meat my character lurched in its general direction and rather than the typical blood fountain the corpse just remained on screen.

Found a badger on the street, brought it home because, 'hey, free meat pie filling'. Turned out it had gotten glitched. Asked around town for details: Original hunter apparently skinned it, carved up some meat and intestines, then went inside to empty his inventory into a cupboard before returning to the badger carcass outside. - In the 3 seconds he was gone, it had gotten this particular glitch.
