Bat spawning on claimed land

Just logged in only to find a bat had spawned in a corner of my claimed base, inside the palisade. I did not proceed to start farming as I was going to, but just logged out instead. I hope this is not a feature, but a bug that will be squashed and dealt with accordingly.

I would post the pic I took, if I only knew how.

copypaste it on image site such as imgur and puush and get the image url.
otherwise, upload attachment from your computer, the forum feature.
