I cant move the chat box when it goes over the tab bar

I accidentaly moved the chat box over the top of the screen and can no longer move it out of the way. It blocks the screen for me and I have tried everything I can think of. I restarted the game, logged off nd back on again, I deleted Haven and Hearth and reinstalled, and I even tried using clients to fix this problem and nothing worked! please help my Jorb!!!

Hmm, well, that's interesting, but Ctrl-C at least works for toggling it back and forth, doesn't it?

It does? Just because the chatbox extends over the top of the screen, the portion that is still on the screen should still work. What's wrong with it?

Shouldn't clearing java cache and whatnot just reset that? Why doesn't uninstall work?

I dont understand it myself, would there be anyway to prevent the box from extending beyond the screen because it did not auto reset for me

The preferences are stored in the registry on Windows, and I guess Java Web Start isn't clever enough to track what registry settings "belong" to a certain application.

Well, you can start regedit and delete the "chatsize" value under HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/JavaSoft/Prefs/haven/hafen, but I'm still wondering why you claim the chat to not be working at all. While surely inconvenient, I still don't see why it would be totally non-functional.

im currently sitting with same problem, after reading the section i still dont understand how to fix it. the chat works, but its over my whole screen. pls assist.

ok its fixed, after i deleted both "chatsize" and 'chatsizew' documents i just had to restart the game.
