Friend attacked me without Rage

My friend is able to attack me without Rage. I'm probably overlooking something but this is WEIRD.
Waiting for something to happen? Everything is going to be okay.

Actually, I encountered this bug too, except I was sparring my village mate (not on his/my claim, on village claim) and somehow midspar I was able to knock him out.

IIRC I had left the spar confirmation window open for a bit (2-3 minutes).

If you have trespassing rights on a claim, you may attack people on that claim per castle doctrine. This particular interaction is complex and a bit obscure, but we feel on balance that a simple rule is preferable to special rules for the claim owner.
