Not working on Linux

Postby danjoredd » Wed Jul 27, 2016 3:10 am

So, I really really want to play this game. But for some reason when I load it up, I get an error that says:

"Fatal Launch Error: could not launch JNLP file. The application has not been initialized, for more information execute Javaws/browser from command line and send a bug report."

Please help! I really want to play this game!

Edit: I use Linux Mint cinnamon, if that helps.

you'd better go with a custom client ...

Amber even has a run.sh (shellscript) included which you run in terminal

Mint is fine with it ...

How do I get the Amber client to run on Linux? I am fairly new to linux myself, so I am not quite sure what to do. Do I enter a command in the terminal?

unpack Amber to a folder in your /home directory

open up Terminal ... use
Code: Select all
cd~ /Amber
command to point to your /home/Amber folder and type
Code: Select all
./run.sh
press Enter

Java should open and client starts

It should not. Come on, TS cant even use simple command line navigation, he have not installed Oracle jre for sure.

danjoredd, download and unpack jre or jdk where you like to.
Code: Select all
# cd <your java directory>
# update-alternatives --install /usr/bin/java java <your java directory>/bin/java 100
# update-alternatives --config java

javac for jdk only:
Code: Select all
# update-alternatives --install /usr/bin/javac javac <your java directory>/bin/javac 100
# update-alternatives --config javac

Code: Select all
# update-alternatives --install /usr/bin/jar jar <your java directory>/bin/jar 100
# update-alternatives --config jar

Code: Select all
# export JAVA_HOME=<your java directory>
# export JRE_HOME=<your java directory>/jre
# export PATH=$PATH:<your java directory>bin:<your java directory>/jre/bin

Now you may follow borkas instructions.

You could try doing this.
