Can't move my character

I have a problem with my game
Everytime I log in to the game everything goes nice and smoothly until I get into the world itself. Once I move my character for the first time with a left mouse button, it won't move anymore. In order to do so I have to click the minimap but it is greatly inconvenient. Also for some reason I cannot interact with any items.
Did anyone ever had such a problem before?

There could be multiple causes, but there was a similar issue recently which appears to have been solved by using 64-bit Java instead of 32-bit (likely due to a bug in the 32-bit OpenGL driver). See if that is your problem as well, otherwise please post debug images, as described in the linked thread.
