Rowan berries should be edible

Postby Burinn » Sun Jan 08, 2017 5:00 pm

I tried to make a fishwrap using the new berries and it seems they don't count as berries for the recipe. Unless a Rowan Berry and Crampbark Berry aren't actually berries I imagine this is probably a bug? Picture related explaining the dilemma.

The one to the left of the blackcurrant is a Crampbark Berry and the three to the left of that are Rowan Berries. I imagine this might also be an issue for the other recipes but I've yet to confirm that.

Is it because they're not edible berries?

Yet, whether or not that's intended isn't something I'm aware of given I'm not a dev. Rowan berries are definitely edible in real life, I can't imagine they'll stay unedible. According to google Crampbark are as well, I can't imagine why you'd want to eat one though.

EDIT: According to wikipedia you need to cook Rowan for them to not cause damage to your body in the long term. RIP the Wiccans I've seen eating them in person I guess.

Nonetheless, having an item with the name of the class of item it doesn't belong to in its name is seemingly non-ideal.

Rowans are edible. I eat them nearly every autumn, and juice made from them is delicious.
Although this does not probably apply to every rowan. There are like hundreds of different species of rowan. Some of them probably are not edible. Those in Finland (most common ones here) are though.

Moved it to C&I and retitled it. If anyone can list some other berries in game that should be edible, list them here, I guess.

If memory servers, crampbark were used as a way to clean out the plumbing, which is how they got the name. From https://www.mountainroseherbs.com/produ ... rk/profile (first link I spotted through Google):

The leaves and fruit are used in laxatives.

Also used to make ink.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.
