Bonechest Decayed?

Found an item laying on the ground and picked it up. It was a torch I use for light fires. Realized the bone chest I kept it in was gone.

Did it decay?

I have no idea what else might have been in the chest, but i'm glad the torch remained. I only had the one bone chest.

The assumption will be it decayed or was destroyed by another player. Either is as likely (more likely the latter) if it wasn't on a claim.

If you don't have a claim yet, you can always store two containers in a lean-to by picking up the object and then right clicking the lean-to. Click the sacks in the lean-to to retrieve the container.

I saw a bone chest in my village go from 100% to 25%, so yes; it seems like the bone chests do decay outside

Really? And on a claim? Mine seem ok so far, how long did it last for before it started decaying?

Yes. The location of my chest was on my claim, outside, Fully charged. And yes, I am walled in via palisade. I am solo. There are or isn't any breaks in my wall.

No one else has access to my claim except a neighbor that i have to let in.

I have a key alt, and I dont use any bots. I have just my 1 (ONE) character that uses the claim at any time.

So to log in and the chest be gone, can only be accounted for that: it decayed; someone flew over my walls and destroyed just it; or a glitch in the system deleted it.

just to confirm...yes they do decay on a claim outside...dont know if they do inside a house or smth....thx for fixing in advance
