an experience window popped up saying a nidbane was coming after me
but i didn't break any laws so i knew this was a bug
still scary though

A nidbane passed by the area, it doesn't mean it was yours.

You did, indeed, see one. It wasn't after you. Unrelated to what you were doing. Not a bug.
