Stuck in water, could not toggle swimming, then body disappe

Sssooo I had an alt that was just walking and therea came this dip in the ground with deep water, and I either had swimming toggled already or toggled it at that moment to cross. I was stuck, unable to move after a step or two inside the water. I tried toggling swimming off just to try to do something about the issue. Then I logged off. After logging back on, that char was gone from the char select screen, assumably dead. I was able to make a new char as her inheritor and went looking for the body, which was gone from that small pool of water. Aren't drowned chars supposed to float? My apologies if this turns out to not be a bug but just something I just messed up, what with the toggling swimming off when swimming. Also this happened quite a while ago but I just remembered, sorry

You probably had swimming on then swam across the water. Then ran out stamina and so you started drowning. Then you died so couldn’t move but either lagged or did not notice. So when you logged back in, the character was dead. Then some other player was wandering by and saw a dead body floating and took it or if you took to long the body turned into a skeleton which then I guess gets destroyed by the water so you could not find the body.

i didnt run out of stamina, i was looking at the bars. I wasn't able to move.

So yeah, I was just bugging out at that point. I already considered what you said as it was happening, but that wasnt it as far as I could tell. No death message, my stamina was above half, etc.

perhaps u had some action in ur cursor like mine which would prevent you from clicking anywhere. or maybe you swam into the world border xd, although i guess thats unlikely if it was just a small pool of water since those are usually near mountains

oh hey boi i've watched ur vids on yt, good shit. also idk honestly, i was clicking a lot to have the mouse register but nothing was going on.it didnt help that i switched toggles. oh, iirc I was still able to do stuff in the menu ergo toggles, so that means it may actually be a bug

Maybe the server had gone down and then when it came back up you were in the water and drowned. I say this because when the server crashes you can still toggle the menu icons for quite awhile before the game closes ... it's happened to me before and I wondered what was going on as I was still in game but unable to move and only able to use the menu.

Huh that would explain it actually, yeah. I'm just wondering what happened to the body, it seems that it was wiped put know?

If the body decays while in water, the skeleton disappears like everything else dropped there. Were you able to get back before the body decayed away?

And if the server crashed at the time of the death, there may have been a saving issue with flagging you dying and leaving a body there. The death may have been saved, but the body didn't get put in place due to the shut-down procedure. (Just a hypothesis based on my limited understanding of server operations.)

i got there the same day, either right after or 7 hours cause that inheritance cooldown. but i think you're right in that hypothesis, or its something pretty similar
