UI Bug After Alt-Tabbing

Postby jacksonblu » Sat May 26, 2018 4:51 am

If I Alt-Tab to another window while moving the camera around via middle mouse button, all UI becomes impossible to click on. Trying to move items around in the inventory or trying to craft something through the UI will just have my click ignore the UI and move my character instead. This is always reproducible for me in both default and in amber client. I always use ortho camera.

May or may not be related to this issue, as the problems are the same: viewtopic.php?f=47&t=40541

This is likely happening from not getting the the mouse-up event (as it's delivered to the then active window) or the game thinking that alt is still pressed (as it misses the key-up even for it, for the same reason)

You should be able to restore normal functionality by returning to the haven window and, in case it's stuck on a missing key-up event, pressing and releasing alt (or in case your OS captures a single alt press for the chrome of the window: do an alt-shift-click inside the window) -or- doing a middle mouse click inside the game window (in case it's stuck on a missing mouse-up event for the MMB).

One thing I din't mention was that the camera follows your cursor after an alt-tab, but seeing as it was probably caused by the middle-mouse button still being in a key-down state, I could just fix it by middle-mouse clicking. The UI not being interact-able however, is not fixed by pressing alt or doing any alt-shift-clicks.

Bump. Bug still easily reproducible in default client. I guess it's mostly inconsequential and goes away after a client restart, but it's annoying when it happens.

Sounds weird, and I can't obviously explain why that would happen. Since I don't have a Windows development environment, I also don't have any immediate way of debugging it, unfortunately.
