Raise your perception and exploration and you'll find them.

That.

it honestly seems weird to not be able to see them. i rather them to be seen easily
but you only get roots and stuff from them once you hit 10 farming and 10 exploration or something

I think perc*exp requirements are a bit too much for some things. For example, I got forager credo, and the first quest wants me to find green kelp, wiki says that it requires at least 3500 perc*exp which is quite a lot in early game. And if I abandon it I lose 10k LP

You start seeing them at around 200-250 exp*perc.

This would make sense - and the shores not look that barren at the beginning.

That is somehow ridiculous you have to gain perception to see cattails that are naturally grow in a huge bushes.
Sköldpaddan, gurbibal master, drunken hunter, the thief of Constantinopol, he who never died of man`s hand, son of Severin, grandson of Yozz, Yozzik, Wengdalf. Also an owl.

P.S. More nice hats please!

Wasn't under the impression that the requirements were at that level, would just presume they'd be pretty low considering they're a pretty annoyingly large plant in the water that's hard to miss.

I'd suspect it's balancing, to not completely invalidate taproots/nettles.
