Cant use hotkeys on certain items, interaction on items

Okay, so im rather new to the game but I found a bug and it is driving me nuts,
I recently died with another character that forced me to make a new one.
it was right at the second quest where I am required to create a Kuksa fill it with water and than drink from it.
problem is I created one before I even got that quest and I was chasing a small animal to stack on hides, during my chase I somehow was able to both run and drink and than I completed the first part of the quest by making a hide stockpile, after that I created another Kuksa, filled it with water and found out I am unable to drink from it.
I hit the action key related to the item and nothing, I try to play the flute I made and nothing.
its like the hotkey system is ignoring the Kusta drinking option for some reason, I didnt have that problem before and I did all the same as I did before to use the item problem is I cant use it and it does not automatically use it when im out of energy to chop trees like it used to when it was bined to a hotkey.
is there any fix to this?

Can you right click your current kuksa and drink from it? If so, it's another general issue with the states of certain things not being reset on death or simply logging out.

When you hotkey a container to drink from, it links to a specific container, not just any container of that type. You can tell which containers are hotkeyed as they have a yellowish coloring. If one isn't yellow, then it hasn't been hotkeyed. You can clear hotkeys by right clicking the button instead of left clicking.
