Poppy Flower cannot be described

Describing Poppy Flowers to another player seems to be bugged.

I received the fisher quest to create a Poppy Wobbler, but was not doing any farming. Not a big problem, friends are farming.
Went through there area and found a poppy flower, brought it to them, and had them attempt to describe it to me.
Received the message "All that you were taught was already old news"

Had him attempt to teach my a few other things just in case, including poppy seeds, flax fiber, and a few other grown things and all went well, but poppy flower still failed.
Waited another day for currently growing poppy to become harvest-able and picked one, which gave me the discovery and allowed my to craft the lure.

Probably devs had a small accident while copypasting the files from some other item to make this one?

Suspecting that your friend didn't actually know poppy flower himself.

He grew them himself, though it is possible he was somehow incorrect. He had a small pile of the flowers next the the field, so I know a few had been gathered.

Thanks for looking into it. (I wasn't aware we could attempt to describe something we didn't discover? Wouldn't that at least give a different message?)

It is possible that he knew the type flower, for example, and could try to describe that, which you then already knew yourself.

I had the same issue and fixed it and here is a small checklist of what i checked...

- Do you have tanning? (not sure if needed)
- Double check someone has taught you all ingredients make sure they can make the thing too...
- Did your character have crafted primitive casting rod? (which is what got me)
